New Album Releases 12/13/12

Bruno Mars: Unorthodox Jukebox- Fresh off earning his fourth No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, Bruno Mars now has his sights set on the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart.

MIA: Matangi- M.I.A. took to Twitter to talk about her new album, Matangi. According to Maya, the album will be out in December, it sounds like “Paul Simon on acid” (yes!) and features no collaborations or “fame whore” producers.

Warrior is dance-pop-by-numbers, inflected with guitar. Kesha's strident rap retains all its obnoxiousness on the title track.

Green Day: !Tre!-We should be impressed by the sheer songwriting prolificacy Billie Joe Armstrong and his brothers in pop-punk arms have put on boisterous display. This band that’s been going since 1987 just tacked on another third to their studio recording catalog, and did so, it seems, with incredible ease.

Kris Menace: Features- Nobody listens to him!!!!!!!

While visiting his best friend Max's house, daredevil Ernie stumbles upon Max's dad's latest invention: a sleek, egg-shaped time machine. When Julia bursts in on the boys' discovery, the time machine whirs to life and closes its doors on the three arguing kids. It whisks them away to a lush jungle untouched by mankind, where a living, breathing T-Rex named Tyra (Melanie Griffith) mistakes them for her newly-hatched children, joining her family with hyperactive dinosaur son Dodger (Rob Schneider).

DVD Releases Predictions

I believe that most people would buy Brave because its a kids movie and everyone has kids. Most people would rent the movie Bigfoot because its a horror movie. People don't really buy horror movies around this time of year. Out of all, I believe 2 days in NY would be the least selling movie out of all. There is not really a big promotion on this movie therefore there are not many people that know about this movie.

CNN Student News

Cave becomes classroom for Syrian kids

A cave's interior has been carved into cube-shaped rooms. Improvised lighting, barely strong enough to illuminate the cavern, shows children sitting, legs crossed, on the bare floor.
They are calling out boisterously, raising their hands eagerly, clamoring to answer questions.
These are some of the students in Syria who, because of civil war, have deserted their schools and taken classes literally underground.
An amateur video, posted by a local activist on YouTube, gives a glimpse of one of these cave schools, which is reminiscent of the stone schoolhouse from "The Flintstones."
Behind the citizen reporter, Abu Diyaa, is a group of first- through fourth-graders who greet him graciously with a round of applause.
"Why here?" Abu Diyaa asks a male instructor.
"We want to keep educating our children," says the teacher, who does not give his name. "But in the city, there is always this imminent danger that the regime choppers or planes will bomb us or drop the TNT barrels."

Sports.

ESPN Fantasy Projection.

It's not surprising that last season's compressed schedule took its toll on Wade, who turned 30 years old in January. He missed 17 games and required offseason knee surgery, though he should be fully healthy when this season starts. The downside is that the Heat likely will put less weight on his shoulders to limit his injury risk. Even last season we saw some dramatic changes in his production. He doesn't attack the lane as much; last year, he took 2.5 fewer free throw attempts and snagged 1.6 fewer rebounds per game than the previous season. He also essentially stopped shooting 3s. At this stage of his career, he's no longer a top-five fantasy option, but he should be a steady contributor worthy of an early second-round pick. Let's just hope he can stay healthy.

IPAD Mini

IPAD MINI.

Yes, the iPad mini was finally showN. Sporting a new design, the iPad mini is just 7.2mm thick and weighs just 308g, and the big news is that it packs a 7.9-inch, 1,024 x 768 screen - the same resolution as the iPad 2.

PIRAHNA

Fisherman Matt Boyd (Richard Dreyfuss) is fishing in Lake Victoria, Arizona when a smallearthquake hits, splitting the lake floor and causing a whirlpool. Boyd falls in and is ripped apart by a school of piranhas that emerge from the chasm and ascend the vortex.
Jake Forester (Steven R. McQueen) is admiring attractive tourists as spring break begins. He reunites with his old crush, Kelly (Jessica Szohr) and meets Derrick Jones (Jerry O'Connell), an eccentric pornographer, as well as Danni Arslow (Kelly Brook), one of his actresses. Derrick convinces Jake to show him good spots on the lake for filming a pornographic movie. That night, Jake's mother, Sheriff Julie Forester (Elisabeth Shue), searches for the missing Matt Boyd with Deputy Fallon (Ving Rhames). They find his mutilated body and contemplate closing the lake, however this is made difficult by two thousand partying college students on spring break who are important for bringing revenue to the small town. The next morning, a lone cliff diver is attacked and consumed by the marauding fish.
Jake bribes his sister and brother, Laura (Brooklynn Proulx) and Zane (Sage Ryan), to stay home alone so that he can show Derrick around the lake. After Jake leaves, Zane drafts Laura to go fishing on a small sandbar island. They forget to tie the boat down and are stranded in the middle of the lake. Meanwhile, Jake goes to meet with Derrick and runs into Kelly, who invites herself onto Derrick’s boat, The Barracuda. Jake meets Crystal Shepard (Riley Steele), another of Derrick’s actresses, and cameraman Andrew Cunningham (Paul Scheer).

BAD PAKH, Afghanistan — When American military advisers fly into Afghan Army outposts like the one nestled on the floor of this forested valley, they keep their body armor on and their weapons loaded.
Their guard was up even though they were there for a day of training Afghan soldiers without once leaving the confines of a fortified base — even when chatting with the Afghan officers over a lunch of goat meat and yogurt.
Afghan soldiers and police officers have gunned down 51 American and allied troops so far this year, and now no one is taking chances. The advisers’ extreme caution lays bare the steep challenge ahead after the official end of the American troop “surge” on Friday and as the mission shifts toward the next chapter of the war: preparing the Afghans to fight on their own.
“They come here and they look like they are going to fight us,” said Sgt. Abdul Karim Haq, 25, an Afghan soldier at the outpost. “They are always talking down to us like we are little children.”
